Gearing up for P1 n P3 mock this sun
U know, after my parents gave me the ultimatum of not going back for holidays, a few weeks later, my mom had secretly booked a return flight for me with the open return ticket. Then later on my dad pulak also wanted me to go back. Not forgetting my sisters n brother that kept asking when is kache coming back. They all do, whilst I don't.
Coz there's so many things to consider if I really wanna fly back for the holidays.
If I DO fly back on 29 Dec 07, I would have to book another ticket back here to London. After Chinese New Year of course, muahaha. That means 2 whole months back home, still paying my fixed costs here. N one way ticket from Pg to London after CNY is RM 11,000. I KID U NOT. Go check MAS n see. How ah.
But you see, my course actually ended liao. Yesterday was the last day of revision classes. Now just waiting for final exams in 2 week's time and then the results in Feb (which I'll probably fail, looking at the rate I'm studying now). Since I'll be finishing hopefully by Feb 08, my student visa incidentally expires end of April 08. It's dangerous to return back to the UK end of Feb with just 2 months left on my visa. I might get into trouble at the immigration section in Heathrow.
Visa extension is costly if done in the UK – about RM2k plus, but there's higher chance of approval by the British High Comm. Doing it back home is of course much cheaper – RM 700 plus, but lower chance of it getting approved I guess.
Besides, my passport expires on Dec 08. That's another issue. My friend said passport renewal can only be done 6 months prior to expiry date. Is it true? I dunno. Means I have to go back Malaysia again in June for passport renewal? Walau eh I'm not Bill Gates' daughter eh.
Money, money, money.
If I don't go home, I could find a part-time job here, get some cash to add to Charm's Cashflow Statement. Make my Balance Sheet look more presentable to the sole shareholder n director. I stand corrected. As of next sitting, it's Statement of Assets & Liabilities. Bye bye Balance Sheet!
Decisions decisions decisions.
1. Fly back to Malaysia on 29th Dec.
Finish thesis in Malaysia without much guidance, post to London.

Beg/borrow/steal RM 150k to pay for fees.
Fly back to London, find part-time job or some short-term course to fill my time between Mar – Sept. Start on Masters course in Oct.
2. Fly back home and never return to London ever again!
3. Forgo open ticket.
Fly back after April 08, ie when Visa expires.
In Malaysia, apply for Masters and wait for application n visa approval.
Woohoo enjoy yummy Malaysian food from May-Sept before flying back to London for new course.

Wait. I remembered PriceWaterhouse Coopers (PWC) Malaysia is head-hunting for London graduates for full-time job or summer internship. Interview in Malaysian Students Dept near Notting Hill on 15 Dec 07. PWC is one of the Big 4, auditing for 51 of the top 100 London FTSE companies I think. Ai meh. I dun wanna earn ringgit n spend pound. Its all about where you work, isn't it?
Location, location, location.
Hah. Sounds familiar leh. That's what Jude Law said in Alfie. Ok he said that when… nvm. It's not appropriate to speak here. I have under 18 readers.
Anyway back I go. Arghh I dun wanna worry about this coz final exam is already ONE BIG PROBLEM. Ini-mini-maini-mo I'll choose option 9.
Anyone with me for that?

Yeah sweetheart Anon is right you should be able to renew your passport here in London, as far as I know the Malaysian Embassy is on or near Belgrave Square, which is kinda near Buckingham Palace Gardens.
Plz don't jump from Westminster Bridge. There are better ways to die ;o) like naturally for instance :o)
Whatever you do wait until the 12th Dec to decide.. you have more pressing things to worry about now.

Muahaha sorry i cant give any useful pointers to help in your decision making cos every choices that u wrote has its pros and cons (except the jumping off the bridge one), it's up to you to weigh them and decide for yourself.
However should you decide to come back and then by chance you're down kl, drop me a line, i know where all the good food is. =P
