Listening to : David Cook's rendition of Hello (hurray for zee American Idol 7 winner!)
As promised me is gonna tell a lil bit about work here, as loadsie frens have asked and all…However, due to professional and privacy reasons, some things are gonna remain vague and general, aight?
I am currently doing my internship in a company (though I wonder if it should be called firm hmmm). I was actually offered a permanent position, but I asked for interns coz initial plan was that I renew my overseas visa, so that after this 2 months' internship, I would return to London, England to look for job/further studies.
Given much thought and lots of lecture from friends, from young to old, I decided not to renew my visa, and head home for this intern and then prolly start permanent job after 2 months.
So here I am, a trainee in a company in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. Earning like 1/3 of fresh graduates pay ie very little ie I am struggling to survive LOL. But I'll hang on there coz God always provides.
Work is great, I am currently in an assignment and my team members are fun people. Although they joke around and are often bubbly, when it comes to work, they are really competent and intelligent… the way they click this-that functions in the computer, the way they state their facts and all those terms...whoa just blows me off. From time to time I somehow feel inferior and small but hey u start from scratch so I'll just try my best I guess.
Don't worry nobody at work knows about my blog so I am not trying to apple polish whatsoever. {Grins}
Often I was shown steps once and was expected to master it. Well this happens often when u start working, it's not like school, college and uni where u get guidance step by step etc. Mistakes was tolerable at school, wasn't it? Exams – if u get 50% wrong u could still pass. But at work, it's do and hit it right. Or face the music. And at work, u cant check personal mails, play games, chat online etc. At least not in my workplace. LOL
Wow I know I am starting to sound super monotonous. This is prolly the boring-est blog ever. Wait it gets better.
I sleep at 10ish pm every night. WOW Lame. Wait wait it gets even better. I wake up at 6am, get ready for work, and then walk to the main road (munching my breakfast on the way), catch a bus at 7am or wait another 15-20 mins if u miss it, which drops me off opposite the LRT station (Light Railway Transit which is sort of like DLR in London) . Wait for LRT 5-15 mins depending on human traffic, travel for 40 mins, walk another 15 mins to work. Start work at 8.30 am. Work work work and then I get off at 6ish pm, the whole travelling cycle repeats vice versa, so i reach home almost 8pm. Shower, eat and prolly check couple of mails, and then sleep. And next day it starts again.
I have no life seriously. What about weekends? Oh weekends is for study. Righttt.
I cant wait for exams to be over. At lease I can have my weekends back. Unless work requires me to labour on Saturdays… Noooo
We'll see. Hey u all students out there. Enjoy this moment as much as u can. Working life is tough no joke about it. Look at me. =(
